I was able to get audio back by reinstalling the Realtek Driver and Nahimic and I downloaded the newest version of Dragon Center 2.0.86.0 only to find out that there are no fan controlling options like the previous version had.After a bit more of testing it seems I also have the problem under windows. I've noticed that one of my fans (Fan 2) is always at 0 no matter the temp and OS. So looks like I have a faulty fan/mobo. Regardless, to your point about fan speed being controlled by EC; If that is the case, it does not matter how good or bad ubuntu handles power ....
